Bunnings Warehouse

The building

The Bunnings retail warehouse is located at the corner of Dandenong Road and Centre Road, Springvale VIC. The Bunnings Warehouse building comprises a floor area of approximately 12,631m² with a height of approximately 9.5m to the top of the parapet.

The building primarily consists of retail areas and storage of product within the retail warehouse area. The retail commodity is typically displayed on metal shelving racks, pallets and/or bin boxes located on the floor. Aside from the main retail warehouse which predominantly comprises product aisles, the store also includes an outdoor nursery (covered by shade sails), bagged goods canopy, an enclosed and drive-thru timber trade sales area and an enclosed building materials and landscape yard.

The approach

A quantitative design approach was performed throughout the sprinkler protected building analysing egress, smoke hazard management and fire brigade related design issues.
