Scientific Fire Services Pty Limited considers a third party review to be a constructive process to assist the approval authority in approving a design which is supported by a fire engineering report. We endeavour to ensure that the review process is independent and that approval from relevant authorities is obtained without unnecessary delays.
The peer review process may also assist the fire engineer in ensuring that all matters, especially the justification of expert judgement, are adequately addressed. It is the overall philosophy of Scientific Fire Services Pty Limited to assist rather than hinder the approval of a given project to ensure that to the best of our abilities the process is not unduly protracted nor is the worth of the third party review jeopardised. The peer reviews are conducted generally in accordance with the International Fire Engineering Guidelines (ABCB 2005), Society of Fire Safety and Society of Fire Protection Engineering guidelines on peer reviews and the Engineers Australia Code of Ethics.
